you cannot join a group if you and them have already a lockout. The others difficultis you can essentially do what you want, but just have loot ID on the bosses you downed. Did LFR before Normal, no loot drops from any of the bosses in normal that I completed in LFR1. with my guild we killed 7 bosses on normal, then killed the first on heroic and when we tried to go back to normal and puñl sludfgist only 2 bosses where killed (the last 2 we killed) . we call raid off and everytone has a lockout only with 2 bosses I am not sure if this question makes sense, because most of the comments and replies I have been reading date back to late 2016 and early 2017 -- I was looking to see if LFR would get me in Trial of Valor: The Lost Army and if there was any reason I should try to get in a raid group via LFR -- and wandered through a whole bunch of Q&A messages which told me a lot of things I did not know.
Please Blizzard fix this i missed out on 3 normal bosses loot because of this. You can do flex, lfr and either normal or heroic. You can't do both normal and heroic they share a lockout. (You can switch normal and heroic as you progress but can only do a boss one time per week)
LFR has a special loot table that is separate from Normal, Heroic, and Mythic.
